“Lindsey was an amazing support to both my husband and me—her calming presence and helpful techniques made our birthing process so special!”
“When my husband and I were planning for the delivery of our fourth baby, we decided to ask Lindsey to attend as our doula. I think it is one of the best decisions we could have made! We are rather private people and had never had the assistance of a doula for any of our previous drug-free, hospital deliveries, but now I recommend it to everyone--especially moms expecting their first baby. My first labor might have been so much easier with someone else there who really cared about helping me achieve the delivery I wanted. Lindsey met with me several times during my pregnancy to discuss my wishes for delivery and create a detailed birth plan. During labor, Lindsey offered tools and tips for alleviating painful contractions in my back, and she comforted me with encouraging words and a soothing touch. For the first time, my husband was able to stay by my side the entire time because Lindsey was there to bring me drinks, socks, and cool rags. In addition to having the training to be able to help women in many different situations, Lindsey has a caring heart and a calming presence that make her perfect for this job. I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone considering hiring a doula.”
“Lindsey was amazing. Having her at my birth was wonderful. She gave me comfort and emotional support. She and my husband were the ones who made me feel I could get through the birth. I’m so glad I had her there with me.”
“Lindsey has such a good connection with families and a great birth presence.”
"A year ago, I didn't know what a doula was. So when my newly-pregnant wife, Lauren, told me that she wanted to have Lindsey as her doula, I initially felt a bit threatened. I wanted to be "the hero" -- the one to help my wife on our special day. I was wrong to fear that way. In fact, Lindsey taught me how to most effectively be what Lauren needed. Lindsey does more than bring hot tea and light candles in the birth room. She set me up to help Lauren and our baby in a way that really mattered. She wanted to hear about what our goals in childbirth were and to help facilitate their realization. When Adelaide was born and the dust settled a bit, I realized that without a doula like Lindsey, my job and our experience would have been characterized by stress. Thanks to Lindsey, stress is not a word that we use when describing our daughter's birthday." Jonathan, first-time dad — Austin, TX
“I was so happy to have Lindsey at my birth! She helped so much. It was so difficult, and she added a sense of comfort to the experience. I remember her rubbing my arm and holding my hand through that long night of contractions, putting hot compresses on my back and just being there for me.”
Lindsey was a tremendous blessing to my wife and me as she walked with us through the last couple months of pregnancy and labor. As first time parents, it was hard to feel really comfortable and at peace with all the changes that my wife was going through. Lindsey has a wonderful gift of calming and a truly peaceful presence that are invaluable in preparing for and experiencing labor. With her birth kit, some gentle guidance, and suggestions for both my wife and myself, Lindsey made the delivery room more comfortable and more conducive to a successful labor and delivery than I had imagined possible. Lindsey enabled me to support my wife in ways that were actually beneficial to her and her delivery, and I know that our birthing experience would not have been the joyful memory that, even in those moments, I knew would stay with me forever.
