I am passionate about easing the transition from pregnancy to postpartum and new parenthood.

Becoming a new mom or dad is one of life’s most profound transformations. New parenthood asks so much from you physically, mentally, emotionally, socially, and spiritually.

As a holistic postpartum doula, my intention is to support you in all of these areas by providing practical support and education, while holding space for you to process, heal, and find your inner strength and intuition as a mom or dad.

Hi, I’m Emily. Welcome to The Linden Tree!

Why the linden tree?

The linden tree is revered for its heart-shaped leaves, fragrant blossoms, and soothing properties. In many European and Slavic countries, the linden tree has long been seen as a symbol of peace, protection, and healing. It is commonly planted in the town square, lending itself to community and connection.

The linden tree in the front yard of my home has served a similar purpose— a place for family and friends to gather and spend long hours talking, laughing, healing, and playing.

The linden tree also stands as a symbol of gentleness and resilience— two important qualities of postpartum transformation and healing. While calming linden tea is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, the symbolic meaning of the tree invites you to soften, open your heart, and find sanctuary in its presence. It teaches that true healing is often quiet, slow, and rooted in inner peace.

Let’s get practical. What exactly does a postpartum doula do? A postpartum doula does not replace the care of your partner, mom, or best friend. As cliche as it sounds, it really does take a village!

Here are some of the ways a postpartum doula supports you and your family:

  • Physical and emotional care of the postpartum mom

  • Overnight baby care so you can sleep and be ready for a day of caring for your little one

  • Lactation and feeding support

  • Meal preparation, including recipes designed for healing postpartum.

  • Birth processing

  • New parent education and “how-to’s,” i.e give a bath, change a diaper, provide a safe sleep space, and more

  • Tailored resources and referrals

  • Light housekeeping and organization

  • Bonding and attachment support

  • Helping you create developmentally appropriate feeding and sleeping rhythms

  • And more!

How can a postpartum doula help?

Beyond her professional excellence, it was Emily’s deep compassion, patience, and love that left the greatest mark on our family.
